Portland Comic Show.

It really was a lot better attended than this photo indicates. Long line to get in. I found the person I wished to talk to and he seemed to like what he could see of Festival Season but he was pretty straightforward and practical in regards to the comics market right now: It's down like everything else in the universe, and his company being a small one, chances of them being able to take on FS are slim to non-existent. He had some good advice about self-publishing though and I think for the first time since we began this venture, I started to get sort of excited about the prospect of doing that. Before, it seemed like, well, too much work. Oh like it hasn't been a lot of work to get the project to where it is now, no siree, not at all.

So that was a good thing, and it was nice to meet him, he was a pleasant man and did beautiful work. The other good thing was I didn't get stuck in a snowbank on the drive home.

NO costumes though! I didn't see any cool costumes, except these Star Wars characters that were advertised. No Princess Leia though, bummer.

I have a feeling, Kumari, that the Portland Comic Show was just about the polar opposite of the convention you went to in NYCC.

Hi,

(Commenting on this post because it's the most recent)
I just came across this blog, and I have to say, FS looks amazing. If you do self-publish, take me down as a pre-order ;) Just thought you'd like to know there are still new readers coming onboard

Hey there Blindheight!

Wow this is so nice to read. We've been pretty stymied in our efforts and it's easy to get discouraged; but we are not down for the count. It's so great to read your post and know there are new readers! Thank you.
Self-publishing may be in our future, not sure yet. Gonna take a stab at revisions and then try again with an established publisher first...or not! It will be interesting to read what the year will bring.
